Teach me your path."

Enabling children to flourish and succeed

Welcome to The Harbour

What is The Harbour?

The Harbour is a dedicated Enhanced Resource Provision designed to support children who require a more tailored approach to learning due to their Communication and Interaction Needs.

Through a combination of specialist teaching, personalised support and a nurturing environment, The Harbour aims to help pupils develop their confidence, communication, independence and essential life skills.

Our dedicated team works closely with pupils, families and school staff to ensure each child's individual needs are understood and supported.

At The Harbour, we believe that every child deserves the opportunity to flourish, succeed and feel a genuine sense of belonging.

A Specialist SEND Learning Environment

The Harbour has been thoughtfully developed to provide a welcoming, supportive and accessible space where children can learn, grow and thrive.

Our approach focuses on:

  • Personalised Learning: Tailoring teaching and support to meet each child's individual strengths, abilities and needs.

  • Communication and Interaction: Helping pupils develop their communication, social interaction and confidence.

  • Emotional Wellbeing: Creating a safe, understanding and nurturing environment where children feel secure and valued.

  • Independence and Life Skills: Encouraging children to build confidence, resilience and skills for everyday life.

  • Inclusion and Belonging: Ensuring pupils remain connected to the wider school community and benefit from shared experiences and opportunities.

Working Together to Strengthen SEND Provision in Leicestershire

The Harbour has been developed in close partnership with Leicestershire County Council, as part of a shared commitment to strengthening SEND provision across the county.

As a provision funded and controlled by the Local Authority, The Harbour supports the development of specialist educational opportunities for children with additional needs within their local community.

We are proud to work collaboratively with the Local Authority, families and education professionals to help ensure pupils receive the specialist support they deserve.

Part of Our Inclusive School Community

At St Simon and St Jude CofE Primary School, our Christian ethos and values underpin our commitment to ensuring every child feels welcomed, respected and supported.

Pupils attending The Harbour remain valued members of our school family, with opportunities to participate in wider school life, build friendships and enjoy enriching experiences alongside their peers, according to their individual needs.

As part of Rise Multi Academy Trust, we share the vision of Enabling all to flourish and succeed, ensuring that inclusion, equity and opportunity remain at the heart of everything we do.
