At St Simon and St Jude Pre-School, we have created a warm, welcoming and engaging environment where children can explore, play, create and learn every day.

Our Pre-School room is filled with carefully planned areas and resources designed to spark curiosity and support children’s development through play. Whether they are building something new, getting creative, enjoying a story or using their imagination, there is always something to discover.

Explore, Create and Imagine

Children have access to a wide range of toys and activities throughout the day, including building and construction resources, arts and crafts, role play and a cosy reading corner.

Our role-play areas encourage children to use their imagination, develop their communication skills and explore familiar experiences through play, while our creative areas give them plenty of opportunities to paint, draw, make and experiment.

For quieter moments, our reading corner provides a calm and comfortable space where children can enjoy books, share stories and develop an early love of reading.

Learning Through Play

Play is an important part of every day in our Pre-School.

Our construction and building areas encourage children to problem-solve, work together and bring their ideas to life. From building towers and structures to creating their own imaginative worlds, children are given the freedom to explore and learn at their own pace.

Activities and resources are regularly adapted to reflect children’s interests, helping to make learning exciting, meaningful and fun.

 

Outdoor Adventures

Our learning continues outdoors, with a dedicated outdoor area directly accessible from the Pre-School room.

Children can enjoy a variety of hands-on activities including sand and water play, outdoor construction, a play kitchen and plenty of opportunities for active and imaginative play.

Outdoor learning gives children the chance to explore different textures and materials, develop their physical skills and enjoy fresh air while learning through real-life experiences.

Our Forest School Space

Just outside our Pre-School door, children also have access to a wonderful Forest School space.

This gives them even more opportunities to explore nature, investigate the world around them and enjoy learning outdoors. Forest School experiences help children to build confidence, independence, resilience and curiosity while developing a positive connection with the natural world.
